Instinctif Partners supports successful launch of impact investing platform to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals

Instinctif Partners, the business communications consultancy, recently supported the successful launch of SDG500, a pioneering impact investing platform to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Instinctif Partners played a significant and direct role in raising awareness to catalyse funding for SDG500, which was launched at a roundtable event at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The launch was cited as one of the main outcomes from Davos by the World Economic Forum’s President Børge Brende in his closing remarks.

SDG500 was conceived by a coalition of private and public sector organisations, including United Nations entities, non-governmental organisations and Bamboo Capital Partners to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The USD$500 million investment platform is the first-of-its-kind dedicated to helping achieve the SDGs. The platform will use debt and equity to invest at Seed, Series A and Series B stages in hundreds of businesses in emerging and frontier markets.

The platform will target businesses in the agriculture, finance, energy, education and healthcare sectors across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean and Pacific regions. There will also be a gender-lens focus and some of the funds will specifically invest in businesses that empower and provide jobs for women.

Managing Partner Rishi Bhattacharya and Account Manager Lewis Hill travelled with Bamboo Capital Partners to Davos for the roundtable event, while Partner Ross Gillam and Account Executive Justine Crestois managed media relations from London.

The team devised the messaging and the communications strategy, involving the development of content and activation in traditional and social media – both for Bamboo Capital Partners and the other partners of SDG500. Instinctif Partners also devised the logo for SDG500, in line with the United Nations’ guidelines about the visual usage of the SDGs.

Rishi Bhattacharya, Managing Partner at Instinctif Partners commented: “SDG500 has enormous potential to deliver a positive environmental and social impact for some of the poorest regions in the world. We are proud that we delivered for Bamboo Capital Partners and to have played a pivotal role in the launch of an investment platform which will have a significant impact on delivering against the SDGs in the next decade.”

Florian Kemmerich, Managing Partner at Bamboo Capital Partners commented: “Instinctif Partners played a crucial role in the launch of SDG500. Their counsel and support was invaluable in the run up to the roundtable event, and on the ground with us in Davos. We are excited by the potential of SDG500 to make a significant impact towards financing the SDGs by 2030 and we are proud that Instinctif Partners will be with us on that journey as we continue to fundraise.”
