How can we make you the voice of authority in the political debate?
SNCF wanted to ensure that the political and commercial environment in the UK enabled increased activity, but also wished to become a trusted adviser able to shape the policy environment in the long-term, both as a voice in the debate and as a partner.
Instinctif Partners worked with SNCF to develop a narrative and messaging that would demonstrate SNCF’s potential contribution to the UK but also maintain realistic expectations. We then helped to develop their strategy, implementing a high level contact programme for SNCF President Guillaume Pepy.
This included one-to-one meetings, round tables and media thought leadership. The programme culminated in an opportunity for senior stakeholders, including the Transport Secretary and Opposition spokespeople, to visit SNCF operations in France.
SNCF developed UK recognition of its expertise in addition to strong relationships with policy-makers. National media gave increased attention to SNCF and Guillaume Pepy’s expertise on global transport infrastructure and high speed rail. Senior policy-makers now turn to SNCF as a source of expertise and the company is well-positioned as a bidder to expand its commercial activity in the UK.
