How did we launch the investment platform SDG500 in Davos?

Challenge:

Bamboo Capital Partners, an impact investing firm and longstanding client, had created an investment platform with seven other organisations, including United Nations entities and non-governmental organisations, to help finance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We were tasked with launching the investment platform – called SDG500 – in a crowded media environment at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Action:

We devised the messaging and the communications strategy for SDG500. We developed a wide range of content, including press releases, key messages, Q&A and social media posts for Bamboo Capital Partners and the other organisations involved with SDG500. We also devised the logo and visual identity for SDG500, in line with the United Nations’ guidelines for visually representing the SDGs. We have presence on the ground in Davos and led the activation of the launch in both traditional and social media and social media.

Result:

The launch of SDG500 was a great success, with coverage driven by a reference piece published in Reuters on the morning of the roundtable event. Crucially, the launch of SDG500 was cited as one of the main outcomes from Davos and was referenced by the World Economic Forum’s President Børge Brende in his closing remarks.

We also recently hosted our own climate change event entitled ‘New narratives for a changing world: how should brands talk about climate change?’, which included the unveiling of our own proprietary consumer research looking at attitudes to climate change.
