Leading meat producer
How did we help this fast-growing company protect itself against new reputational and operational threats?
This company is a highly-regarded meat producer supplying a diverse product range to the UK’s top supermarkets (and many big customers further afield).
Senior management had observed significant reputational and financial damage to a key competitor after an ‘insider filming’ expose—and wished to avoid the same fate.
To help improve preparedness, Instinctif Partners was asked to extend and revise the company’s crisis management and business continuity manual. The goal was to further enhance the response in fast-moving ‘reputational challenge’ situations.
Blending expertise and insight from our own colleagues and external security consultants, we developed detailed new guidance material addressing areas such as physical security, cyber security, issues management and crisis communications.
We also developed a new ‘core’ escalation workflow and record-keeping procedures to ensure swift triage and management of situations requiring an urgent response.
The new manual was rolled out to the company’s site directors and other senior colleagues during an intensive, one-day training workshop.
The training workshop, attended by 49 participants, included a thorough ‘visual’ briefing on the updated crisis management and business continuity manual. This was consolidated by experience in using the new procedures (provided in the guise of three ‘table-top’ simulation exercises addressing various different challenges, from health and safety incidents to a fatal animal disease pandemic).
An additional ‘cascade’ briefing pack was provided for site directors to extend the roll-out process to key operational staff.
