MEPCO – How can we establish your reputation among local, regional and international investor audiences?

Challenge:

To develop a 360-degree Investor Relations (IR) strategy to establish MEPCO’s reputation and positioning among local, regional and international investor audiences.

This was MEPCO’s first formal financial communications and IR  programme since listing on Tadawul in 2015.

MEPCO required a full financial communications programme to develop relationships with investors and media.

Action:

We developed MEPCO’s communications strategy by undertaking an international peer benchmarking exercise, one-year and three-year IR roadmaps, corporate key messaging, and a comprehensive financial and corporate communications outreach programme.

MEPCO carried out its first Analyst Day in Q4 2017 and secured invitations to the region’s leading investor conferences in 2018.

Result: 

Within a 9-month period, MEPCO’s share price rose by more than 50%.

Having previously had no analyst coverage, MEPCO is now covered by two sell-side analysts with a strong pipeline for further coverage.

In November 2018, MEPCO was the No.1 of 61 companies highlighted by Tadawul as having built an improved international shareholding.
