Decoding the local elections: insights, analysis and what it means for your business

Our expert political specialists will provide an in-depth assessment of the 2023 English local election results and how they will impact the national political landscape. Additionally, we’ll explore what these results could mean for your business, offering valuable insights that can help you better engage with your local government stakeholders.

The event brings together political experts who have stood as candidates and served at the local and national government level to deliver unique insight and analysis on the local elections. Key points the panel will discuss include:

Will the elections demonstrate Labour is a government in waiting?

Will the Conservative vote share collapse?

What will the election mean for smaller parties and independents who outperformed the last time these seats elected in 2019?

What key themes emerged as issues on the doorstep?

And importantly what are the policy implications of the local elections, in particular for planning applications, housing and development?

Our expert panel will include contributions from:

  • Tom Cooper, Conservative councillor candidate in Cheshire West and Chester. He will be on hand to share his thoughts about the campaign and the issues that came up on the doorstep. Tom is also an Account Manager at Instinctif Partners, specialising in the built environment space
  • Kelly Edwards, former Labour Councillor and Chair of Housing, previous General Election candidate and aide to MPs and Ministers under the Blair Government and Head of Instinctif Public Policy UK.
