Securing Planning Permission for Battery Energy Storage Site in South Oxfordshire

In September 2023, Instinctif Partners was appointed by longstanding energy client to support public consultation and political engagement for a battery storage site proposed on green belt land in South Oxfordshire.

The site’s location, amid increasing development, had raised concerns among local residents. Instinctif initiated early engagement with key councillors and stakeholders, followed by a well-received public exhibition in Garsington. Despite a delay due to scheme changes, the team maintained regular contact with influential councillors.

In June 2025, Instinctif supported their client in preparing for the planning committee, including speech drafting and briefing materials. The application was unanimously approved, marking one of two unanimous planning permissions this summer we have successfully helped secure for the client.
