  • Providing 24/7/365 expert senior counsel to guide crisis response

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Director to join the Business Resilience team within our Strategic Advisory Services practice to cover maternity leave, with a possibility to continue on a permanent basis.

As Director you will be responsible for driving the Business Resilience team to deliver on its strategy for sustainable growth. This includes supporting day to day management of the Business Resilience team (six people), leading business development activities, building new internal and external partnerships and overseeing a significant portfolio of client accounts.

You will lead on larger client programmes and provide strategic advice to organisations, helping them solve complex business challenges. You will also provide crisis management support to clients across a range of industries such as food and drink, FMCG, industrials and leisure.

The role could be based in Bicester or London, with travel between the two, and may involve some international travel.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Business Resilience team, with support from other Partners in Strategic Advisory Services
  • Share responsibility for achieving Strategic Advisory Services’ overall KPIs and P&L targets
  • Manage and develop the people in the Business Resilience team, including line management of key individuals
  • Raise the profile of the team’s expertise within Instinctif and externally
  • Build new internal and external partnerships
  • Actively seek out new business opportunities
  • Manage the team’s response to new business leads, including proposal development and pitching
  • Provide strategic advice and direction across a portfolio of clients
  • Contribute strategic and creative ideas and develop these into tangible concepts
  • Be on the team rota to be the first point of contact for our 100 + clients who buy our 24/7 crisis support service (approx. one week in every six weeks)
  • Manage interconnected programmes working with other teams such as film/ design/ public policy, Instinctif Partners’ international network and our crisis response network partners
  • Contribute to the delivery of our marketing strategy

 

 

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 10 years’ experience helping businesses solve complex resilience problems
  • Strong leadership capabilities and team management skills
  • Hands-on experience in risk and crisis management, from both a strategic and communications stand-point
  • A willingness and confidence to learn the wider range of consultancy services we offer as part of our unique Strategic Advisory Services offer
  • Leadership skills & ability to influence in the boardroom
  • Strong, clear and concise written communication skills
  • Confident and engaging presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strategic thinking – you always see the big picture and consequences of a course of action
