Reinventing Responsibility:

Launched in January 2021, Reinventing Responsibility builds on Instinctif’s significant experience in ESG and sustainability by developing sustainable business strategies and enabling corporate transformation. The service provides comprehensive integrated consulting services to clients which address the heightened challenges faced by companies today.

Reinventing Responsibility, which is part of Instinctif’s Strategic Advisory Services practice, provides clients with services spanning three core pillars including strategic development, stakeholder engagement and reporting and disclosure. The approach to each element is always set in a wider stakeholder context and grounded in richly insightful perspectives across its blended team.

The successful and rapidly-growing Reinventing Responsibility team draws on a breath of disciplines including, insight & foresight; brand and business strategy; business resilience; public policy; investor relations; corporate reporting and communications. The team is led by Victoria Cross (Managing Partner), Kate Clough (Partner) and Oliver Parry (Partner).

 

Role Overview:

If you have at least three years’ experience in a strategic communications discipline, with experience in ESG and sustainability work, and you have a willingness and confidence to learn the wider range of consultancy services we provide as part of our unique Strategic Advisory Services offer, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, self-starter to join our team. You will thrive in a fast-paced, varied environment and be good at thinking on your feet.

The role will be based in either Bicester or London and may involve international travel.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Passion for ESG and sustainability issues
  • Previous professional experience, ideally a few years in a research role or in a communication- or sustainability-focused role
  • Excellent knowledge of current research and trends in sustainability and ESG
  • Analytical skills
  • Previous experience in industry tools including (for example) CSR Hub, Proxy Insight
  • Experience of main ESG indices (e.g., RobecoSAM, Sustainalytics and the ISS Governance Quality Score)
  • Experience of main ESG and sustainability frameworks and guidelines including UK Corporate Governance Code, UK Stewardship Code, UK Listing Rules, SASB/IIRC
  • Some exposure and knowledge of investor relations and the interplay between IR and ESG
  • Excellent verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English, additional language skills would be an advantage

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out desk research and quantitative research on a range of ESG and sustainability issues
  • Analyse sustainability trends and topics relating to clients’ businesses and industries
  • Supporting Account Director and Partners with the analysis of investor views on ESG, including navigating and clarifying ESG metrics and ratings systems for clients
  • Develop good client knowledge and understanding to gain an awareness of the client’s business, as well as their ESG performance and ESG reporting standards
  • Developing, building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Develop ESG and sustainability-focused content and thought leadership on major environmental and social issues relevant to clients
  • Event management including webinars and client workshops
  • Support the development of in-house knowledge building for sustainability mandates, for example with in-house training and ESG-focused content development
