Account Manager – Public Policy Brussels

Instinctif Partners seeks a highly qualified and talented individual with previous experience in EU affairs, policy advocacy and public relations to join our public affairs team in Brussels. You will have the opportunity to work within Instinctif’s class leading Reinventing Responsibility practice in Brussels which focuses on environment, health, safety and purpose-related communications. We are looking for someone with passion for sustainability, environmental and health issues.

Main Duties/Responsibilities


You will contribute to the activities of the team by:


  • Producing high level client deliverables with oversight from a line manager
  • Providing some independent analysis, not just information
  • Supervising Research Assistant(s) and interns and participating in recruitment for those roles
  • Actively participating in team meetings
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and office management
  • Contributing to business development research, proposals and pitches
  • Building your personal network and developing contacts with other stakeholders, companies and EU and national government officials
  • Investing roughly 10% of time on business development (i.e. events, networking, etc.)
  • Possibly traveling depending on company and client needs and Government advice.
  • Making recommendations to clients and colleagues.
  • Exercising independent judgment and discretion within established policies and procedures to analyze facts or circumstances surrounding problems or transactions and take appropriate action.
  • Responding directly to clients and owning client project operating budgets.
  • Organizing your own work and managing your own time with worked checked largely for progress toward completion.
  • Meeting servicing levels and performance targets
  • Effectively organizing and managing tasks including those with time restrictions


Skills and Experience:


  • EU work permit
  • University degree; relevant graduate degree desired
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably including some communications, public relations and/or social media experience as well as public affairs experience
  • C2 level of English (native or near native); Additional European languages, including French, Flemish/Dutch, German and/or another language would be good
  • An individual who can work autonomously with minimal support from their line manager
  • An individual who can represent the company professionally and responsibly
  • 1 to 2 years of agency experience (or similar)
