Account Director – Financial Services

Following a sustained period of growth, we are looking for an ambitious and talented Account Director to help bolster our Financial and Professional Services sector practice.

Instinctif Partners is an award-winning agency with an exceptional client book spanning sectors and geographies. We added a number of blue-chip names to our Financial and Professional Services roster in 2019 alongside high-growth challenger brands.

This role is based within the 100-strong UK Corporate & Capital Markets (CCM) business with opportunities to collaborate across the wider Instinctif Group. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in developing the sector portfolio – taking day-to-day responsibility for leading successful client programmes while contributing to the practice’s continued success through new business, marketing and team development.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about financial and professional services, capable of bringing new ideas and creativity to help solve our clients’ communications challenges in original and innovative ways.

The role

  • Fantastic opportunity to join the growing Financial and Professional Services sector practice – a major contributor to the UK CCM business and wider Group
  • High-quality client base offering the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of briefs including:
    • Issues-led campaigns, brand building and thought leadership (B2C/B2B)
    • Strategic positioning and corporate reputation management
    • Media relations and executive/spokesperson profile raising
    • Integrated digital communications and strategy development
    • Capital markets and financial communications
    • Multi-channel programmes working with Public Policy, Content & Creative, Film & Motion, Insight & Research and Innovation & Digital specialists as well as other sector practices
    • Multi-market activity working across Instinctif Partners’ international network
  • Client base spanning a range of subsectors including general insurance, life and pensions, wealth and asset management, fintech, banking and alternative finance, later life lending, financial planning and retirement, private equity, impact investing, mortgages and property finance, conveyancing, legal services and recruitment
  • Strong focus on personal development in a highly supportive culture, with access to formal training programmes and international network initiatives

Salary: Competitive, plus benefits (bonus scheme, pension and other benefits)

The candidate:

  • Passionate about financial and professional services and keen to join an ambitious team
  • You will already have several years’ experience working in a successful consultancy or equivalent in-house position
  • Ideally varied experience of building brands and delivering campaigns across B2C (including retail consumer/personal finances) and B2B (including advisory and/or institutional) audiences
  • Experience of:
    • Running client teams of various sizes and being a client’s main point of contact
    • Integrated accounts including digital and social media implementation
    • Developing and implementing thought leadership platforms and creative issues-led campaigns
    • Corporate reputation and issues/crisis management
  • Have a proactive attitude and comfortable working both individually and as part of a team
  • Good network of media and industry contacts with appetite to develop this further
  • Experience of new business activity and selling/commercial skills
  • Ambition to build our business through organic and new business growth
