Instinctif Partners Dublin shortlisted for ‘Best Public Affairs’ campaign in 2021 PR Awards

The annual Awards for Excellence in Public Relations, hosted by PRCA (Ireland) and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII), celebrate the very best of Irish public relations and communications work.

This is the 28th year of the awards and our Public Policy team in Dublin are thrilled to be shortlisted in the ‘Best Public Affairs’ category for their work on the SME Recovery Ireland campaign in 2020.

The campaign was established to ensure that policy response to Covid-19 is designed to succeed for the small business sector. The campaign formed an alliance of representative bodies, local business leaders and committed citizens who wanted to position the SME sector to withstand the crisis and lead Ireland’s recovery.

The SME sector has and will continue to be disproportionally affected by the Covid-19 crisis. There was a realisation among the industry representative bodies which make up the sector that small businesses were under-capitalised before Covid-19 and most did not have the financial resilience to survive the force majeure crisis they were facing. The campaign brought these industry bodies together to form the steering group of the SME Recovery Ireland initiative providing one united voice for the SME sector which employs 65 per cent of the national workforce and forms a critical part of the social and economic fabric of Ireland’s towns and communities.

The Instinctif Partners Dublin team were procured by SME Recovery Ireland to develop and execute a public affairs and PR strategy for the campaign – encompassing a blend of strategic political and industry stakeholder engagement from local to national level, supported by comprehensive media relations outreach and a digital media campaign.

We look forward with excitement to the virtual awards ceremony which takes place in the Round Room of Dublin’s Mansion House on Friday, 25th June. As the Irish economy begins to reopen after the lifting of challenging restrictions on business, it is exceptionally hearth-warming to see so many SME’s lift their shutters and trading again. For many this would not have been possible if it were not for the Government supports hard fought for by the SME Recovery Ireland campaign.
