Instinctif lead biggest IPO since Brexit
Following on from their Intention to Float announcement a few weeks ago, we are delighted to share that our retained client Biffa plc has today floated on the London Stock Exchange. We have been working with Biffa since winning a competitive pitch in June 2015. Today’s float is a huge achievement in an increasingly challenging IPO market, which have seen several major floats pulled in recent days. With a market capitalisation of £450m, Biffa is by far the biggest new listing since the Brexit vote.
Biffa is one of the UK’s leading integrated waste management businesses and the second largest waste management services provider in the United Kingdom by revenue. It has over 100 years of history at the forefront of the UK waste management industry providing collection, processing and disposal of waste and recyclables. Its commercial and industrial collection services cover 95 percent of UK postcodes, while its municipal division services 2.4 million households. The group employees over 7,500 people nationally.
The Instinctif team has provided Biffa with a full range of services including strategic communications advice, analyst and media relations, IPO preparation, website content advice and collateral development. As well as capital markets work, the content & creative team provided digital consultancy and designed Biffa’s post-IPO website. The team will now move on to support Biffa in its life as a listed company, working alongside other advisers Rothschild, Citi and JP Morgan.
