Embracing Change: The Instinctif Way
Written by Head of the Change Index, Libby Wallis
At Instinctif, ‘change’ isn’t just our word of the year—it’s the very essence of how we do business as we help our clients navigate the ever-shifting landscape of regulatory, political, environmental, media and business change. From responding to changes in customer demand to adapting to new industry standards, we support our clients through every change they look to navigate.
Last year, we established the Instinctif Change Index to delve into the issues that business leaders are facing, from the small-scale considerations to the business-critical challenges. As well as their attitudes toward risk, we explored resilience, optimism and uncertainty, and how the response to each of these can impact the approach to change. What we discovered was that businesses, regardless of size or sector, were encountering similar feelings of uncertainty when thinking about taking risks, particularly if the payoff wouldn’t be felt in the short term.
This year, we continue with the Change Index; building on last year’s trends to evolve our understanding further around how businesses navigate change, and what external factors they feel are providing opportunities or holding them back.
We know that the path is anything but linear, and the next 12 months, if they are anything like the last 12, will provide unexpected events that businesses will have to react to.
In a world where change is constant, seeing it as a chance rather than a challenge is the key. Embracing change is the only way forward.
